The whole garden can be viewed from the limestone terrace when walking out from the house.  The garden design evolved from a large oval-shaped lawn (Oval gardens) area in the middle with stepping stones and borders following the curved perimeter. The play area at the rear is partly hidden from the house with tall shrub planting. Halfway through the path, there is a bench with a wooden arbour from where to admire the planting. The shrub and perennial theme of the planting creates a cottage style border with a separate culinary herb garden including sage, lavender, parsley and chives.

“The oval shape of the lawn was a design choice to hide the odd perimeter of the existing garden, as no straight lines were coming off the house. Now the clean oval shape ties in with the modern interior.”
