description

A classic fairy tale garden with a circle patio and atmospheric lighting. The Indian sandstone paving has a sandstone cobble set edging and the manhole covers are paved with the same material as well, blending into the patio. The wooden square trellis around the garden is covered with climbers for privacy, including the chocolate vine (Akebia quinata). The timber arch is decorated with climbers and fairy lights which creates a magical atmosphere during the night. The beds are planted with both evergreen low-shrubs, like spindles and Fatsia and flowering perennials, like Anemones and Geraniums.

“The specimen tree in this garden is for all seasons: a coral bark maple (Acer palmatum ‘Sango-kaku’). The leaves start pink-green in spring which eventually turn to golden yellow for the autumn, then pink branches and new shoots for winter.”
